Why is Ramen so salty when most Japanese food is bland? There's only one reason

Most people have a misconception about Japanese food: Japanese eat light and healthy food. However, after arriving in Japan, I realized that Japanese people love fried chicken, fried rice, ramen, fried dumplings and other carbohydrate and calorie high food, eating is not healthy at all.

Especially Japanese ramen, obviously from our Chinese past, the result of the Japanese localization, even we Chinese will be surprised to taste -- why so salty? Whether it's the ramen with soy sauce soup or tonkotsu soup, the taste is so strong that you can't drink the soup and feel thirsty after eating it.
